Publisher and author spotlights for November
For the month of November the publisher spotlight is on Cheyenne Publishing.
Cheyenne Publishing is an independent publisher of quality LGBT novels and anthologies, specializing in historical fiction. Their adult fiction is culled from some of the best writers in gay historical fiction today including Erastes, Charlie Cochrane, Lee Rowan, and Ruth Sims.
Cheyenne Publishing also takes special pride in their young adult line that can readily be recommended to gay teens.
Cheyenne Publishing was founded in 2007 by Mark R. Probst, who started the press when he noticed that LGBT historical fiction was underrepresented in the mainstream presses.
Genres include historical gay romance (affectionately known as “breeches” rippers), contemporary gay romance, gay mystery, gay Westerns, and LGBT young adult fiction.
Normal Miguel by Erik Orrantia won the Lambda Literary Award for Best Gay Romance 2010.
Cheyenne Publishing also has a number of young adult books with some or all proceeds benefitting The Trevor Project. Cheyenne’s young adult anthology, Awake, features contributions from Kathe Koja, Robin Reardon, and Nancy Garden, author of the groundbreaking 1982 teen lesbian novel Annie on my Mind. 100% of the net proceeds for Awake benefit The Trevor Project.
The Pride Pack is a series of LGBT teen mysteries in the style of Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys. The Pride Pack is penned by Ruth Sims who is donating all her royalties for the series to The Trevor Project.
